Olstad Pixma MP495 is a printer with a nice all-in-one and has WiFi capabilities. The driver and software installation, but not go so smoothly (x64 Windows 7). I can not imagine a layman would be to go through the difficulties that I always work over WiFi with this printer. But if it is configured, it works quite well. Document Printing: Strangely, this is probably the least interesting part of all-in-one. There is not much that can be said in this category. The MP495 is a very competent document printer with all the features you'd find in all inkjet printers. The paper from the back so it's a little more intuitive, will be printed on the side of the paper, but it also means that you need more space height range. Photo printing: When MP495 photo printer is both fast and high quality. I found "Photo Paper Plus Glossy II" provided the paper sample exceeded select HP photo papers and had passed another MP495 HP Photosmart 385, I have both the speed and quality. So I'm quite happy with the service here because I think this is one of the big draws of this unit. Canon says about 86 photos of a color ink cartridge. I do not have the printer is long enough to verify the correctness of their application. Scanning: I do not watch very often, but it is a very useful feature to have when you need it. I try in a scan image quality for speed, and software used. I am very happy with the ability to scan the MP495 is. My test involved a sheet from a notebook that had a light gray background as a watermark. The scanner took it no problem. Scanner initialization has taken on the achievement. 20 seconds, which I find adequate. There is a scan button on the printer, but pressing it does not matter if the printer is connected via WiFi. WiFi: One of the main attractions of this printer is the wireless capabilities, but because the printer has no control over the machine itself to configure the connection to your Wireless Access Point secure must presumably it has the software installed and configured on a computer on the network . Setting up the WiFi was a little difficult. After several unsuccessful attempts, I found that the trick to the USB cable (which they call a configuration cable WiFi) connection is PRECICELY in the right place during the installation - in the detection phase. Put it too early because it seems to fail - and waited for the first time. Regardless, it is undoubtedly a barrier for newcomers trying to configure this printer. I suggest that a competent person to assist in the computer setup of the wireless connection on this printer. That is, not about the printer close enough to my computer to the USB cable to achieve is fantastic. Software: The software is not very impressive, but adequate A tool for managing exploration and OCR text conversion, and all that good stuff. Canon has an automatic scan that automatically detects the type of document being scanned. I checked out and seems to work well to be comfortable. But the program can not open the location of the file in Explorer or open the file with the default application. So it is quite annoying. Included in the software is "MyPrinter" tool that lets you connect to the printer and configure the options. It seems like just a shortcut to useful properties for the printer comes with Windows. No options to configure the WiFi connection in this tool. You must use the installer to do it - something I find quite annoying as this is something that could easily access without having to insert the driver disk or dig up the configuration utility. If you decide to go through the easy installation instead of the custom installation, configuration utility dump some annoying toolbar shortcut
