Whealton I looked hard enough in brochures in the last months of waiting for a chance to own a color laser printer with a price range that do not have to eat my lunch package points to make up months. A business to the local office were two models I eying a 1600 HP and one was. They seemed very similar in almost every respect to the 100 [...] CLP-300 U.S. dollar fell below the HP. It was time to seize the opportunity. This is the second Samsung laser printer I have in my office at home now, the first being the small ML-1740th I had this for over a year now and it was wonderful. I had to try not afraid to Samsung CLP-300, because his name is not as big as HP. So I go home and begin to implement. As with the previous ML-1740, about 5 minutes to unpack it, has switch cable, connect the toner packs and fire it up. Do not skip a beat and had a test page that is done in a flash driver for the team was just as easily. Overall a very, very simple to configure. Return to ink "packages" (or standards) a bit ... I do not think I've seen a simple toner system. This system is literally easier to treat than the inkjet cartridge replacement. Printer's front cover opens to reveal four "holes" of toner cartridges. Simply remove the protective covers of the three color cartridges and one black cartridge and pop in their respective holes. This has to be a step forward for the world the laser printer. Anyway, I just had this for about a week, but have put the best 200 pages of it already. Works like a champ and I'm very happy to have caught. I will list below some of the pros and cons as I see (in no particular order): Pros: Low noise level during printing ... even very low noise. His little more than a humming sound. * Fast printing (about 20 to 25 seconds to first print quality and very fast once started) * Great driver gives you great printing options like duplex printing, booklet printing (long or short side of the page), watermarks , pre-generated letterhead, the ability to have multiple pages per sheet printing, the ability to print posters, etc. .. ... Too many to mention. * Decent color prints. The quality is not quite up to the picture quality of the best inkjet photo, but good. And it's not bad enough to be a negative. I would say that if your primary goal is to print photos you may want to compare other more expensive models before settling on this one. Otherwise it should suit you fine. * Size ... it fits perfectly on my printer stand. This does not over power the space is too thick. It is not much bigger than the smaller ML-1740 and how his older brother, the CLP-510 (I found the built-sided in 510, but did not love everything about the size) Cons: * Power ... it seems that a little more than the ML-1740 (no surprise I'm sure) used, because my battery backup a click every few minutes, when a brown out peak occurs. The ML-1740 makes the lights flicker in time, but had no effect on the UPS. On a related note, however, this printer has a user-selectable power-saving mode that puts you to sleep after a certain number of minutes. * Low paper capacity. Only about 150-sheet paper tray. But it is easy to remove and fill, and I doubt I always more than one session to print. No front auxiliary input tray (such as ML-1740) to power various paper machine. The CLP-300 takes a number of paper sizes, but you have to use the paper. * Power switch on the back. The ML-1740 also had this configuration. How hard can it be to put the button on the front or front to make it more accessible, better yet, let the unit on and off automatically by the software as some other printers can do. Switch all the way back, go ahead.
